You see these types of claims all over the place online. People tell you to buy their product and soon you’ll be stuffing your bank account with cash, buying new cars, and buying new houses. Is it possible? Yes — BUT “Warning Will Robinson!” Most of these products are designed to stuff their pockets, not yours.

Anyone who is willing to do some work can make money online. Very few of the offered products will do it for you. Some of the tools are useful and there are a few shortcuts here and there, but, all in all, it does take some work to make money on the internet.

Here’s the real “Guru” secret of making money on the internet: You have to have an audience.

An audience? Yes. A group of people who want to hear what you have to say. Having an audience is the cornerstone of any company, any sales pitch or any successful product sales. There are a many “built in” audiences on the internet. You can access these groups of people through forums, through email, even through pay per click ads.

But - the BEST audience is a “captive” audience. A group of people you can talk directly to. What I am referring to is email. Having a list of people who have decided to let you send them emails and given you permission to do so is the very best audience you can possibly have to make money online.

How do you get them to give you permission? Easy. Offer people something very valuable for Free. Let them know they can have the freebie as long as they will give you permission to send them email.

When they give you their email, they do it through an “autoresponder” sign up form or subscribe form. Then they have to click a “confirmation” link in their email acknowledging that they give you permission to send them more email. This is called “double opt-in” because the prospect has told you once when they signed up on the form that they wanted your email, and then TWICE when they clicked on the confirmation link in the confirmation email.

Now, your prospect can receive your PRE-PLANNED emails over time.

In principal, this sounds easy. In reality, it takes some thinking and a little work. If you can master it - you will have the keys to the kingdom and be able to make all the money online you ever dreamed of.
